Prologue
September 30th
Dear Ms. and Mr. Cross:
We hope you receive this letter and find you both well. This would be the second communication weve tried. The first being sent to you just over a month ago. Maybe misplaced at the post office and never made it to you. I already tried to call you, but it appears youre unlisted and we do not have that information about you.
Now, to the reason were writing you. Were pleased to inform you that your hybrid werewolf-vampire romance series is now under the names of Isabel Wolfe and Max Wolfe. Were also pleased to inform you that they are quite popular, much more then we could have ever predicted. We believe there has been a great interest to do a book-signing tour. Numerous stores have contacted us on the possibility that we thought wed contact you and find out if and when youd be interested in the possibility.
Please contact this office with your phone number and your response.
We look forward to hearing from you both, Ms. and Mr. Cross.
Sincerely,

December 30th
Dear Ms. and Mr. Cross:
We received your letter this morning and while we gather that neither of you are interested in a book-signing tour, we feel we must stress the publics interest in your series. Its growing popular rather quickly. Several publications have written requesting an interview. We dont feel the need to explain how publicity would benefit future sales.
As to the book-signing tour, not only have we had phone calls requesting one,
but a highly successful bookstore chain with outlets in both Spain and the United States has announced it would be willing to give money so that you both may visit their larger stores. They would arrange the pay for your flights, put you up in hotels at each stop, supply a car and driver to get you from the airport, see you to your hotel, then to the signing and return. This is far from a small offer and we urge you to consider it most carefully.
As mail in Spain is quite slow, though your return letters seem to take the usual week and a half, were sending this on overnight express. We would very much appreciate your immediate response. Please remember to include your phone number this time.
Sincerely,
Luke R. Keynes and Bella E. Dechamps

Dear Mr. Keynes and Ms. Dechamps:
I must inform you my brother is not with me at the moment. He has left to visit friends. I am not sure upon when he should return, but I assure you both, we do not wish to do any of this book-signing tour or anything else related to publicity.
Sincerely,
Annabel Cross

Dear Ms. Cross:
We are sorry to hear that your brother is not present at the moment. We hope that he has a safe journey and a wonderful time. But once again, you havent included your phone number. This being the case, we would first ask you to call the office at once and speak to either of us. Should we be unavailable we would ask you to speak to our assistant Robert. You may ask for Robert, but we wish to speak to you directly. We are not sure whether or not you are sure at how popular your books have become. Or how important and very much necessary it is to have contact with your readers can be beneficial.
We are not sure whether youre aware of it or not, but there are sites popping up all over the internet and we receive tons of letters for you daily, which will be boxed and mailed separately from this letter.
We would also like to urge you to do an interview or two. The ones for a magazine and newspaper do not have to be in person; they can be done over the pone or threw the computer. The ones for a news show, those would have to be in person. Many literary magazines are requesting interviews.
We urge you both to get a Windows Messenger or something so that we may keep in contact easier. Seeing as mail is somewhat unreliable and quite slow, we also ask you send us your e-mail addresses.
Please remember to call this office as soon as possible. Again, Im sending this on overnight express.
Sincerely,
Luke R. Keynes and Bella E. Dechamps
